During our “Community Exploration” week, students and adult clients had opportunities to learn more about the people, places, and services that help keep our community moving, safe, and connected. Ms. Barbara’s class took a walk to Stop & Shop, while Ms. Lauren’s class visited Renato’s Pizza Masters and Angel’s Recipe Ice Cream & Crepes for some hands-on exploration out in the community.
We also welcomed community helpers from the Jersey City Police Department, North District, the Jersey City Fire Department and EMTs, and NJ TRANSIT, who generously shared their time, vehicles, and experiences with our students and clients. Together, these activities made for a week filled with discovery, connection, and meaningful community experiences.
