I have been involved with St. Joseph’s School for the Blind in various ways for more than 35 years! I first was a board member when Herb Miller was the Executive Director. Sometime after I retired from teaching, I became the network administrator for two of the ministries of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace – SJSB was one of them! During the seven years I worked at SJSB, I became aware of the gift SJSB was to the visually impaired and special needs community!
The school’s philosophy revolves around treating each student as an individual and enabling her/him to become the best possible person. After I retired, I continued to spend some time each week assisting the new network administrator, and giving some one-on-one time in math for a few students. I thoroughly enjoyed and am grateful for my experience at the school.
