Director’s Welcome
I would like to personally welcome you to our Adult Services Program, a Division of Developmental Disabilities / Individual Community Support Services (ICSS) Self-Directed Day program which promotes independence through life skills training and real life experiences. Under the guidance of our experienced staff, our Adult Program provides life skills training in personal care, social skills, recreational skills, meal preparation, home management, community participation and more.
The staff and I recognize the inherent worth and dignity of every person and support the belief that every person deserves to live as rewarding and fulfilling a life as possible. The ability to care for oneself, make decisions, accept responsibility and engage in meaningful relationships are key components to leading a fulfilling life. Our Adult Services have been designed to enrich the lives of adults with special needs by providing day programs that support the acquisition and practice of these life skills in a safe and encouraging environment.

St. Joseph’s School for the Blind’s Adult Services program provides the opportunity to learn and practice life skills for individuals with special needs over the age of 21.
Overview
Adult Services is a Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) Real Life Choices, self-directed day program for adults with special needs, dedicated to enriching lives through the acquisition and practice of necessary life skills.
- Provides opportunity to acquire and practice life skills in a safe and encouraging environment
- Learned skills are practiced in real life situations
- Fully licensed by DDD
- All fees and costs are covered by DDD/Medicaid if Eligible.
​​Individuals over the age of 21 with special needs are eligible to participate in the Adult Services program. This includes adults with comprehensive needs including developmental disabilities, physical or sensory disabilities as well as those with limited or no prior experience participating in day habilitation programs.

- Medicaid Approved
Staff
• Low Client-to-Staff ratios
• Highly experienced and specifically trained to work with special needs adults.
• All staff are certified in CPR, First Aide, Handle with Care, and all required DDD trainings

- Hours: Monday thru Friday 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
- Program is open 220 days per year
- Clients can choose to attend from 2 to 5 days per week
