A group of St. Joseph’s students traveled to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, Lyndhurst, NJ where they experienced the chivalry and rivalry of a forgotten age.
Our students were hand selected by Medieval Times to be VIP’s for the day complete with a unique sensory tour especially designed for individuals with visual impairments. Throughout the tour, students met knights in shining armor, a beautiful queen, and held court with the theater’s equine trainer. Students had the opportunity to touch various costumes, headgear and weapons. They felt the smoothness of a knight’s helmet and the weight of a sword. VIP seating & headsets with full narration of the show were also part of the interactive educational experience to ensure our students were part of the action.
The organization’s Partners in Education program also included educational materials, lesson plans and curricula for teachers to make 11th century history come alive.
