St. Joseph’s recently redesigned more than 1800 square feet of space to create a new, state-of-the-art therapeutic center equipped to meet the complex needs of students with multiple disabilities. According to Executive Director David Feinhals, “The space brings both physical and occupational therapies together, enabling unprecedented collaboration and an ability to better assess students’ needs.” Students also benefit from the Center, as they enjoy unlimited daily access and draw motivation from their peers. New, innovative equipment has replaced outdated models allowing children to do more, experience more, and build on their abilities. While physical and occupational therapies have long been included in our curriculum, our new Center now provides even greater opportunities for students to excel.
BEFORE : The former Enrichment Center was a multi-purpose space for therapies, computer training & IT equipment storage. As work began, new steel beams were lifted through the window of the room. The beams were fitted in the ceiling to support the addition of suspended therapy equipment.
AFTER: Today, the new Therapy Center is furnished with innovative equipment and an expansive area where both occupational & physical therapists can work.
